How Can I Get Published Clips as a Freelance Writer?
For starters, consider your skill sets and the topics you are most passionate about. Then start a blog about one of those passions. While you are honing your skills writing on your blog, approach some low-paying sites and publications that are willing to work with newcomers.
You don’t have to advertise that you are new as a writer to these sites–simply review the publications carefully, pick an idea to write for them and send a query to the editor. If they accept your query, your work is cut out for you. Can’t find the right person to send an e-mail to? Consider checking the About Us section for a contact name or at least someone you can ask “Where do I send my freelance writing query?”
