Coffee Filters Matter Too

Okay, freelance writing and coffee addiction seem to go hand and hand, so I don’t mind sharing this little tidbit here. One of the things that makes good coffee taste…well…good is the oil in the beans. Now, when you use paper filters, guess what you are doing? Okay, yeah, you’re killing Earth but, more importantly, you are compromising the taste of your coffee. So instead of paper filters buy a reusable filter that won’t soak up the oils and take away some of your flavor. Or, you can get a coffee press and thank me later.

  1. Personally, I use a percolator – no filter required. The coffee tastes much better, and I don’t have to waste time with a filter. Here’s a tip for coffee drinkers: Cook’s Illustrated rated Eight O’Clock Coffee one of the best coffees on the market. There are fewer quakers (bad beans) in this brand, and it tastes great.

I like to use a coffee press too – it comes in handy for camping.
