If you are a new, inexperienced writer, your freelance rates will start low and get more impressive as you increase your amount of published clips. Check with other freelancers who are just above your skill and experience level and ask what they were charging when they worked at your level of experience in the field.
Don’t forget to ask your fellow freelancers how long they stayed at their former pay level. That should give you a good benchmark to shoot for when setting those early rates.
